is 2022 Emmy Nominated Actress, and a native of Dallas, Texas. She is currently a series regular on Tyler Perry’s hit TV series, The Oval on BET, as Nancy Hallsen, and a recurring guest star on the long time running soap Opera, The Young and The Restless, as Naya Benedict. She also appeared as Brenda, in the feature film, Acrimony, alongside Oscar nominee, Taraji P. Henson. Additional TV appearances include Chyna in Fox's hit series, Empire, and Tilda in Tyler Perry's popular television series, If Loving You is Wrong, on the OWN, to name a few.
Ptosha is a proud graduate of the Arts Magnet High School at Booker T. Washington, and has earned a double major at Southern Methodist University (SMU); BFA in Theater- Acting and BA in African American Studies. As an accomplished theatre actress for several years, Ptosha has appeared on countless stages. She was last seen on stage in Dallas Theater Center's A Raisin in the Sun as RuthYounger, and Crowns as Jeannette. Additional stage appearances include Theatre Three's Manchild in the Promiseland, and Stage West's Joe Turner Has Come and Gone, as Martha.

Ptosha is also a Dallas Leon Rabin Award nominee for Best Director. She recently co-directed The Blue Door at The Rep Theatre in Delaware, and served as assistant director alongside Akin Babatunde in DTC's Mountain Top, and Jubilee's Color Purple.

As a single parent, Ptosha eventually moved to Los Angeles with her young son Jordan to pursue a career in Television and Film. Her other selected television credits include guest starring roles on Lifetime’s Petals on the Wind, Key and Peele, and The Soul Man.

Ptosha is most proud of her role as the mother of Jordan L. Jones, a recent graduate of USC and a working film and TV actor in Los Angeles, as he is a series regular, in the role as Jazzy Jeff, on the hit Peacock series, Bel Air, streaming now.
